Hull City man to return to training this week after recent injury ahead of Sunderland trip
Hull City defender Finley Burns is expected to return to training this week, as detailed in a report by HullLive.
Hull City have been without the centre-back over recent matches due to injury. He joined HCAFC on loan from Manchester City last summer.

Burns, 21, was given the green light to leave the Premier League champions on a temporary basis to get some more experience under his belt. He has since made 11 appearances so far this season in all competitions, nine of which have come in the Championship.

In this latest update regarding his condition, HullLive report he is set to link back up with his teammates on the grass as he steps up his road to recovery along with Charlie Hughes and Kasey Palmer. Mohamed Belloumi, Liam Millar and Oscar Zambrano remain long-term absentees for the East Yorkshire outfit.

The Tigers are sat in 21st place in the table. They drew 1-1 at home to Norwich City last time out.

He said last month, as per HullLive: “It’s interesting. I mean, I’m not too sure myself if I’m being honest. There’s still a week and a bit of the window left, so those conversations will still have to take place, but ultimately, I’m not too sure myself at the moment.”

The youngster saw his game time dry up under former manager Tim Walter but has enjoyed more minutes under Ruben Selles recently.

He played for Southend United from 2012 to 2017 before moving up north to join Manchester City.

Burns has since been a regular for the Premier League champions at various different youth levels and has played once for their first-team under Pep Guardiola in a Carabao Cup win over Wycombe Wanderers back in September 2021.

The England youth international was loaned to Swansea City in 2022 but played only three times for the Swans.

He then linked up with Stevenage last term in League One and played 37 matches altogether in Herfordshire.
