Loan Watch | Ted Cann’s debut clean sheet & Reyes Cleary scores again

Six West Bromwich Albion players earned minutes for their loan clubs over the final weekend in March.

Goalkeeper Ted Cann kept a clean sheet on his debut for Forest Green Rovers on Saturday afternoon, just hours after his move there was announced.

The stopper helped his new team to a narrow 1-0 home triumph over Solihull Moors in the Vanarama National League, a result which extended the gap between themselves in third and Oldham Athletic in fourth to nine points.

Adam May’s tremendous strike on the half-hour mark proved to be the winner.

In the same division striker Reyes Cleary was on target yet again for Hartlepool United.

The Baggies youngster netted the only goal as his team went to FC Halifax Town and claimed all three points.

Cleary hit a first-time strike through a host of bodies and into the back of the net from the edge of the box four minutes before the break.

It was Reyes’ third goal in his last four National League appearances and one which means the Pools remain 12th in the table, eight points off the play-off places with six fixtures remaining.

Elsewhere, defender Caleb Taylor completed 90 minutes for Wycombe Wanderers who collected all three points at home to Lincoln City in Sky Bet League One.

Cameron Humphreys scored the only goal of the contest in the middle of the second half.

Taylor’s team remain third in the third tier, three points behind Wrexham in second, but with a game in hand over the Welsh outfit.

midfielder Matt Richards got through 72 minutes of Leamington’s 1-0 home defeat to Kings Lynn Town in the Vanarama National League North.

The Baggies man was replaced by Adam Walker in a game which was won in second-half stoppage time when Finlay Barnes scored.

The setback leaves Leamington in 14th position with five games left to play.
