Ange Postecoglou has provided an injury update on his Tottenham Hotspur squad ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool.
Tottenham come into the cup tie on the back of a 2-0 win over Brentford in the Premier League at the weekend.
Some eyebrows were raised at the weekend when there was no sign of one player in particular in the match day squad, with Ange Postecoglou explaining that Micky van de Ven’s absence was precautionary having spoken to the defender and the medical team.
The Dutch international returned for the first half of Tottenham’s 3-0 win against Elfsborg which was his first appearance since suffering a hamstring injury in early December.
Tottenham were also dealt a blow with the news that Radu Dragusin suffered an ACL injury which required surgery and has sidelined the Romanian international for the foreseeable future.
On Sunday, Tottenham signed Kevin Danso from RC Lens to bring in some much-needed reinforcements to the heart of the defence.
Postecoglou confirmed on Friday that Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero will both miss the match against Liverpool and is playing it safe, rather than deliver another setback.

Will Kevin Danso start for Spurs vs Liverpool?
The Tottenham boss was asked whether Danso will start at Anfield given the fact Ben Davies and Archie Gray formed a makeshift pairing in the 2-0 win at Brentford on Sunday.
Postecoglou stopped short of confirming a first start for the Austrian international by insisting he may keep him back for a full debut in Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Aston Villa.
He told Football.London: “We’ll see. There is another big game three days later. Whether he starts or comes on, we’ll see.”

Danso should start – the Carabao Cup takes priority
Considering Tottenham hold a one-goal advantage against Liverpool and are just a step away from a cup final, Postecoglou has to start Danso against Liverpool alongside Ben Davies.
Archie Gray has been brilliant as a makeshift defender, but given Danso’s experience he has to slot straight into the side and give Postecoglou a selection headache instead on his midfield options.
We’re only in the fourth round of the FA Cup and could face a horrible draw to even get further, Tottenham simply have to go all out at Anfield.
