HERE WE GO :I was told by someone today that no Carlton players have improved in season
|I was told by someone today that no Carlton players have improved in season 2023. That’s a bit harsh on Stocker, Setterfield and Phillips.
Now the rumour mill says Silvagni, TDK and Dow are all likely to depart. If only our inbound list and coach managers were as good as our outbound ones. I’m still smarting over the genius recruiting of injury plagued Zac Williams and Jack Martin. But when Brody Grundy was on the market we were nowhere to be seen. Pittonet may well be doing well as a tap man but look at his around the field impact…..virtually zero in terms of marks, assists and of course goals which apparently as a team we can’t kick more than 6-7. Add in a mid field that has zero impact on the scoreboard and it’s crystal clear what the issue is. Forget Voss. Richmond and Melbourne stuck with their coaches while they built a culture and group of passionate players committed to the same cause. Rebuild
Mark VII or whatever number we are at starts again and hopefully this time we can get a list manager to recruit players who will spend less time in physical therapy and more time playing football. It’s hard to fathom the difference across the board at StKilda while we languish again in territory where the only media coverage is about the crisis at Carlton. Let’s hope by Sunday night the media is about our positive football and not about the straw breaking the camels back.
