Penn State has hit it big on the in-state 2026 recruiting trail once again.

Three-star athlete David Davis of Imani Christian in Pittsburgh committed to the Nittany Lions on Tuesday — the first day of Penn State’s spring practice session. Davis is ranked in the 247Sports Composite as the No. 12 Pennsylvania prospect.

Listed at 5-10 and 180 pounds, Davis has already visited Penn State eight times, including on Tuesday, according to On3. He was also in town for Junior Days back on Feb. 1.

Davis had also taken visits to West Virginia and Pitt, among others, before making his pledge.

He is poised to play defensive back in Happy Valley, but he has played running back at Imani Christian as well. His former high school teammate, defensive end Dayshaun Burnett, enrolled with the Lions in January as a freshman.

Penn State now has nine players committed in the 2026 class, including four from Pennsylvania. The group ranks No. 7 in the nation, according to 247Sports. Penn State will continue to add, too, as spring ball represents an important recruiting opportunity for the Nittany Lions staff.
