Exclusive: Oh Hyeon-Gyu undergoing Genk medical after Celtic accept bid

Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-Gyu has jetted out to Belgium to undergo a medical with KRC Genk after agreeing terms, sources have told Football Inside

A deal has been agreed upon between the two clubs, with Oh being permitted to fly out on Friday to finalise the transfer

Oh has agreed terms with the Belgian giants and was allowed to miss training on Friday to travel to Belgium.

According to sources, a deal to end his time at Celtic Park is expected to be completed this weekend.

Oh signed a five-year deal for Celtic in January 2023, but the Scottish side are already cutting their losses.

  1. The South Korean tostriker has made just 47 appearances for the club since his arrival, scoring 12 goals for the Hoops in that process.

Most of his appearances have come from the bench, with Brendan Rodgers favouring other players instead.

One reason Oh struggled for game time last season was due to Adam Idah’s impressive loan spell in the second half of the campaign

The forward remains a bright prospect for the future and has shown quality in front of goal throughout his career.

He scored 14 goals in 53 appearances for Suwon Bluewings and has gained 11 international caps for South Korea.
