The Sweden international starred for Coventry City in the Championship last season, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 52 appearances.

It is currently reported that Chelsea are offering to sign Gökeres for a fixed fee of €80m plus €5m in add-ons (offer value of £73m), but this offer has been rejected outright.

Sporting have revealed that a €100m (approximately £86m) termination fee must take effect.
Chelsea are said to be planning to make another move for the striker before the transfer deadline.
Arsenal are also mentioned on the record as having an interest in Gokeres, but so far no offers have been made.
Gokeres recently stated that he wants to remain at Sporting this season.
If the club triggers the clause, the final decision will depend on the club hierarchy in Lisbon.
Arsenal should avoid pursuing Gyokeles.
The 25-year-old has contributed in almost every game for Sporting since his summer move.
However, questions remain as to whether the striker can succeed in the Premier League.

Instead of entering the race for Gokeres, the Gunners could perhaps wait until the summer and pursue one of their key transfer targets.
Brentford’s Ivan Toney appears to be manager Mikel Arteta’s best option, but the Gunners cannot rule out a move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
The new contract has a release clause of 120 million euros (approximately £103 million).
