Reeves, 29, previously played for the Dons and was part of the squad that achieved promotion to League One via the play-offs. After stints with Bradford City and Stevenage, where he contributed to a second-place finish, Reeves expressed enthusiasm about rejoining Wimbledon. He aims to bring experience, energy, and leadership to the team, emphasizing the importance of a balanced squad to navigate the challenges of League Two. Matty Stevens Signs Two-Year Deal

In May 2024, AFC Wimbledon secured striker Matty Stevens on a two-year contract following his release from Forest Green Rovers. The 26-year-old forward boasts an impressive record, having scored 50 goals in 133 appearances for Forest Green, including 27 goals during their 2021-22 League Two title-winning campaign. Stevens began his professional career at Barnet, followed by a move to Peterborough United before joining Forest Green. Upon signing, Stevens expressed confidence in his ability to contribute significantly to Wimbledon’s attacking prowess, aligning well with the team’s playing style. 

Joe Lewis Joins on Season-Long Loan

In July 2024, center-back Joe Lewis joined AFC Wimbledon on a season-long loan from Stockport County. The 23-year-old defender played 24 matches for Stockport in the previous season, including their appearance in the League Two play-off final at Wembley. Lewis, who began his career at Swansea City and later played for Torquay United, expressed enthusiasm about contributing to Wimbledon’s ambitions. He cited the club’s vision and the influence of manager Johnnie Jackson as key factors in his decision to join. 

Goodman Owen Strengthens Goalkeeping Options

In July 2024, English-born Nigerian goalkeeper Goodman Owen signed a loan deal with AFC Wimbledon. Manager Johnnie Jackson highlighted that Owen’s addition would enhance the team’s goalkeeping department, providing healthy competition alongside former Charlton stopper Lewis Ward. Owen’s previous loan spell at Colchester United saw him gain valuable experience, and Jackson expressed confidence in his potential to develop further under the guidance of goalkeeping coach Ashley Bayes.
