Breaking News:Toney’s Transfer Twist Unexpected Favorite Emerges

Chelsea and Manchester United are allegedly interested in signing Brentford’s Ivan Toney before the transfer window ends on Friday. Victor Osimhen of Napoli appeared to be the former’s first priority, but it has been reported that Chelsea is now exploring for alternatives.

Toney appears to be one of them, as the striker is free after approaching the final year of his contract. He has missed all three Brentford games this season, including Friday night’s 1-0 victory against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup second round.

Chelsea and Manchester United interested in Brentford’s Ivan Toney

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea and United are both interested in signing Toney, who might cost less than £50 million. Chelsea were connected with Toney earlier this week, but it appears they will now face competition from one of their Premier League opponents. However, if it comes down to Chelsea or United, it appears that Chelsea would win, with the Evening Standard reporting that Toney’s goal is to move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea should buy Toney over Osimhen, according to former Premier League scorer Troy Deeney.

Ivan Toney should now be Chelsea’s priority

With a deal for Osimhen becoming increasingly impossible due to rival interest from Al-Ahli, Chelsea should prioritise acquiring Toney. He would not be a bad replacement for the 25-year-old, who is already experienced with English football’s top tier. Chelsea can still try to persuade Osimhen to join Enzo Maresca’s team, but they risk losing Toney to United if they spend any more time on the Nigerian.

By the time the transfer window ends on Friday, the Blues might not have either, which is something the team will want to avoid. The only natural No. 9s in Chelsea’s roster right now are Marc Guiu and Nicolas Jackson, while Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku can also play up front if the club fails to sign Toney or Osimhen.
