Many fans mentioned that Smart was simply out-coached by Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman. While Smart has been vocal about the Bulldogs deserving a spot in College Football Playoff, some fans believe he was unprepared. “No need to mince words. While Georgia has been one of the most dominant teams in the sport over the past several years, winning the national title in 2021 and 2022, this season was filled with injury woes and inconsistencies. The biggest hit to Georgia’s roster occurred in the SEC Championship Game win over the Texas Longhorns. Starting quarterback Carson Beck suffered an elbow injury that had him sidelined for the rest of the season. Gunner Stockton made his first start in the quarterfinal and recorded one touchdown and 234 yards, completing 20-of-32 pass attempts.
