HERE WE GO :BRIGHTON & Hove Albion have announced plans to host a star-studded charity match at The Hawthorns this summer, featuring some of the biggest names in Premier League history…

As of March 28, 2025, there is no official information confirming that Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club plans to host a charity match at The Hawthorns during the upcoming summer. The Hawthorns is traditionally known as the home ground of West Bromwich Albion Football Club, located in West Bromwich, England.

Brighton & Hove Albion has a history of organizing charitable events and community initiatives. For instance, in April 2023, during a Community Matchday, the club raised £20,000 to support various community programs across Sussex. 

Additionally, the Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation regularly hosts fundraising events such as the Brighton Marathon, BM10K, and the Seagulls Spring Quiz. These events aim to engage fans and the local community while supporting charitable causes. 

Regarding pre-season activities, the club’s chief executive, Paul Barber, mentioned in April 2024 that plans were underway for a “quite-complicated” pre-season tour, potentially targeting the Far East to leverage the popularity of Japanese international Kaoru Mitoma. However, these plans did not mention a charity match at The Hawthorns. 

It’s also worth noting that the Brighton & Hove Albion Supporters’ Club maintains a list of forthcoming events related to the club. As per their latest updates, there is no mention of a charity match at The Hawthorns during the summer of 2025. 

In summary, while Brighton & Hove Albion FC is actively involved in various charitable activities and community engagement events, there is currently no evidence to support the claim of a planned star-studded charity match at The Hawthorns this summer. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it’s advisable to follow official announcements from the club and reputable news sources.

Our men’s game against Brentford on 1 April was our official Community Matchday.

Albion fans once again showed their support for AITC by donating, visiting us at the Albion bus, and taking part in AITC activities all over the stadium.

Fans who visited the AITC bus were greeted by special guests Guy Butters and Norman Cook (better known as Fatboy Slim), as well as a number of people who have benefitted from AITC programmes.

In total, fans donated a fantastic £20,000 on the day. This money will go towards support our award-winning work all across Sussex.

We couldn’t have run the Community Matchday without the help of our kind partners and sponsors.
