The University of Arkansas has officially named Kelsi Musick as the new head coach of the Razorbacks women’s basketball team. Musick, who previously served as the head coach at Oral Roberts University, has signed a five-year contract worth $600,000 annually. She succeeds Mike Neighbors, who resigned earlier this month. The Razorbacks are excited to usher in a new era under Musick’s leadership, bringing fresh energy and ambition to the program.

In an exclusive interview following her appointment, Musick shared her enthusiasm for the opportunity to lead the Razorbacks. “This is an incredible honor,” Musick said, smiling as she reflected on the significance of the moment. “The University of Arkansas has a rich tradition of excellence, and I’m beyond excited to be part of this program. The passion here, both within the team and the fan base, is inspiring, and I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and get to work.”

Musick’s hiring comes after a highly successful run at Oral Roberts, where she turned the Golden Eagles into a formidable force in the Summit League. During her time at ORU, she led the team to multiple postseason appearances and earned recognition for her ability to develop players and foster a winning culture. Musick emphasized that her approach to coaching is grounded in hard work and consistency. “It’s all about building a foundation of trust, discipline, and accountability,” she said. “I want this team to know that when they step on the court, they will give everything they’ve got—whether it’s in practice or during the game. That’s how we’ll build a championship-level team.”

Hunter Yurachek, the Athletic Director at Arkansas, expressed confidence in Musick’s ability to lead the program forward. “Kelsi’s track record speaks for itself,” Yurachek said in a statement. “She has the leadership qualities and experience necessary to take our women’s basketball program to new heights. We’re excited to see the impact she’ll have on the student-athletes and the program as a whole.”

Musick’s appointment is a part of the Razorbacks’ vision to not only compete at a high level but to build a program that is synonymous with success both on and off the court. “It’s about creating a culture of family and connection,” Musick added. “I want this team to feel supported not just by me and my staff, but by the entire Razorback community.”

As the new head coach, Musick is ready to make an immediate impact and lead the Razorbacks to the next level of success.
