HERE WE GO : Dortmund announced the signing of highly-rated Ecuadorian talent Justin Lerma.
|As of March 18, 2025, Borussia Dortmund has not announced any new signings. However, the club has made several notable acquisitions during the 2024/2025 season to strengthen their squad.
Maximilian Beier
In August 2024, Borussia Dortmund secured the services of 21-year-old striker Maximilian Beier from TSG Hoffenheim for a reported fee of €29.5 million. Beier had been in impressive form, earning his debut for the German national team against Ukraine prior to his transfer. His arrival was intended to bolster Dortmund’s attacking options, especially after the departure of Niclas Füllkrug to West Ham United.
Pascal Groß
On August 1, 2024, Dortmund announced the signing of experienced midfielder Pascal Groß from Brighton & Hove Albion. The 33-year-old German international returned to the Bundesliga after a seven-year stint in the English Premier League. Groß signed a two-year contract, bringing versatility and experience to Dortmund’s midfield.
Felix Nmecha
Earlier in July 2024, Dortmund completed the signing of 22-year-old midfielder Felix Nmecha from VfL Wolfsburg. Nmecha, who began his career at Manchester City, had a notable spell at Wolfsburg, making 50 appearances over two seasons. His move to Dortmund was seen as a strategic addition to enhance the team’s midfield creativity.
Carney Chukwuemeka
In February 2025, Borussia Dortmund secured the loan signing of 21-year-old midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea for the remainder of the season. The loan agreement includes an option for Dortmund to make the move permanent for a fee exceeding £40 million. Chukwuemeka’s limited playing time at Chelsea made this move an opportunity for him to gain valuable experience and contribute to Dortmund’s midfield.
Serhou Guirassy
Another significant addition was striker Serhou Guirassy, who joined Dortmund from VfB Stuttgart in July 2024 on a contract extending until 2028. Despite an initial knee injury that delayed his debut until mid-September, Guirassy made an immediate impact upon his return, notably contributing two goals and an assist in a match against Bochum.
Justin Lerma
In May 2024, Dortmund announced the signing of highly-rated Ecuadorian talent Justin Lerma. The 16-year-old attacking midfielder will remain in South America for two more years until he reaches 18, at which point he will join Dortmund. This strategic move underscores the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent for the future.
These acquisitions reflect Borussia Dortmund’s strategic efforts to strengthen their squad across various positions, blending experienced players with promising young talents to maintain competitiveness in both domestic and European competitions.
