Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club has unveiled an ambitious £40 million plan to renovate and upgrade the American Express Community Stadium, commonly known as the Amex Stadium. Phase One: The Terrace Fan Zone

The initial phase focuses on the introduction of “The Terrace,” a state-of-the-art fan zone set to open in the spring of 2025. Designed to be the largest in the Premier League, The Terrace will offer a pre- and post-match sports bar experience. It will accommodate up to 1,000 fans during colder months, with the capacity expanding to 2,000 in warmer weather by utilizing outdoor spaces. Club Store Expansion: Post the match against Arsenal on January 4, 2025, the existing club store and Dick’s Bar were closed to commence refurbishment. The club store is undergoing a major overhaul to span two levels, enhancing the retail experience for fans. A temporary store has been established in Bennett’s Field to ensure uninterrupted access to merchandise during the renovation period.

Dick’s Bar Relocation: Dick’s Bar, a popular spot among supporters, will be relocated to the north concourse. Upon reopening, it will feature updated amenities and continue to serve as a central gathering point for fans.

Stadium Branding: As part of the ongoing “Albionisation” initiative, new signage, wayfinding systems, and branding elements have been installed to reflect the club’s identity and heritage more prominently throughout the stadium.

Phase Three: Seating and Capacity Improvements

The final phase, scheduled for completion by the 2026/2027 season, includes:

Capacity Increase: An additional tier for home fans will be constructed, increasing the stadium’s capacity by 800 seats to a total of 32,500.

Relocation of Away Fans: Away supporters will be moved to the south-west corner of the stadium in 2027. This relocation will allow for the creation of a dedicated home fans area directly behind the south stand goal, enhancing the atmosphere and providing a more unified support section.

Safe Standing Areas: The club plans to introduce safe standing zones in both the North and South Stands, offering fans the option to stand safely during matches, aligning with modern stadium trends and supporter preferences.

Beyond the immediate stadium enhancements, Brighton & Hove Albion is actively pursuing plans to establish a permanent, purpose-built stadium for their women’s team within the city.
