Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to make significant financial offers to secure players who are also targets for Chelsea. One prominent example is Borussia Dortmund’s 20-year-old winger, Jamie Gittens. Tottenham are considering an £80 million bid to strengthen their left-side attack, but they face competition from Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea for his signature.
Another player attracting interest from both Tottenham and Chelsea is Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. Chelsea are determined to rival Tottenham and Newcastle for Guehi’s signing, believing he may choose a return to Stamford Bridge.
Additionally, Tottenham have shown interest in Ipswich Town’s 21-year-old striker, Liam Delap. Despite Chelsea’s interest, Tottenham are contemplating a significant move to secure Delap’s services, aiming to bolster their attacking options.
These potential transfers highlight the competitive nature of the current transfer market, with both Tottenham and Chelsea vying for top talent to enhance their squads.
Tottenham are said to be ready to ‘bet big’ on the signing of a talented Bundesliga winger this summer. It has been a season to forget for Spurs, who find themselves stuck in the bottom half after spending much of the season battling a relentless stream of injuries.
Ange Postecoglou is now fighting for his future as Tottenham boss, and he is going to need to deliver a consistent run of form now that players are returning from their respective injury issues.
According to one journalist, that statement signing could be Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. German insider Florian Plettenburg has told SportBILD: “Dortmund crashed in the league, the Champions Leagueis getting further and further away, and with that the income from the Champions League next season.
They have to win it to be in it again. If they miss out, they’ll have to sell players and Gittens is highly regarded. Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are said to be offering €100m. You have to say that would be nice money. Hans-Joachim Watzke recently admitted that they will have to sell one or two players if they miss out on the Champions League. So, a transfer for Gittens could happen.
“The English have the money; they have the TV contracts. Bayern Munich won’t pay this summer, and they could have him with that. But yes, Tottenham I think they’ll bet big.”

Since graduating to the first team, he has scored 11 goals in 66 league games from out wide for Dortmund, and he helped Dortmund reach the Champions League final last season. Chelsea have also been heavily linked with the young winger, but it’s unclear whether they would be willing to pay a huge fee for the youngster, who is tied down to a contract until 2028.
That would also be a huge fee for Tottenham, and it would surely rely on them deciding to not sign Tel permanently, given they have a £45million option to buy in the winger.
