Bayern Munich’s recent form has not been convincing. The 1-1 draw with Celtic in the Champions League makes it two draws in a row for the Bavarians after the 0-0 draw in the Bundesliga against Bayer Leverkusen, which was notable for Bayern’s inability to even get a shot on target as their opponents racked up multiple phenomenal opportunities to score. The performances are getting worse and exhaustion is racking up. Not that board member of sport Max Eberl is not trying to deny any of that.
“We won’t sit here and say we’re in top form and everything is fantastic,” Eberl said after the Celtic match, via @iMiaSanMia. “It’s not that way at the moment. Everything is a bit harde
“But we got through today. That’s the most important thing,” the former Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director followed up, as captured by @iMiaSanMia (again). “We kept Leverkusen at a distance. That was the second most important thing.”
That is true. And it is so important to not take such things for granted as fans. But performances need to improve as well or Bayern will continue to slide down this slippery slope of racking up bad results.
