‘Do you think I’m dumb?’ Watch as Fulham hero Calvin Bassey reacts to £265k per week contract ‘offer’

Since winning the Scottish Premiership title in 2021, Rangers player recruitment leaves a lot to be desired.

There have been individuals with promise and players like Malik Tillman, Abdallah Sima and Vaclav Cerny who have made an impact, unfortunatel, they have only been on loan – what might have been.

The 7 WORST Football Club Rebrands

Calvin Bassey pranked after becoming Fulham hero
Given his status as a home grown player in England, it would be a surprise if his form for Fulham hasn’t made “bigger” teams sit up and take notice.

What it has done though, is seen UK based streamer and content creator Kaysosa team up with Bassey’s Nigeria teammate Ola Aian to prank the former Ibrox hero.

Claiming to be from a scouting agency, Bassey is “offered” £265,000 per week, only to see their plan collapse when their number was recognised.

It’s the sort of offer that might be as unrealistic as it first seems given Fulham’s lofty Premier League position and Bassey’s growing reputation since leaving Rangers.

Bassey gets off the mark against Nottingam Forest
The 25-year old scored his first goal of the season with the winner against Nottingham Forest at the weekend with Bassey delighted to get off the mark, via Fulham’s official website:

“The boys give me a bit of stick sometimes! But today I proved them wrong, I was able to get there, and for me it’s a proud moment, first goal this season.

“But, for the team, I think we deserved it, we created a lot of chances, and I think we deserved the win. You could see we tried to control the game.

“We knew they’re very dangerous on the counter, so defence was very important for us, making sure we don’t open ourselves. We tried to be narrow, with their goal we weren’t narrow enough and Chris Wood, he’s on fire, and he’s just able to slot it home.

“But after that we just made sure we had each other’s backs and were covering each other, controlled the ball and made sure we took care of the ball. As you could see, we created so many chances, and we could have had more than two on another day.”
