LATEST NEWS:Borussa Dortmund reportedly considering Sandro Wagner to replace Nuri Şahin

Borussia Dortmund’s head coach, Nuri Şahin, is currently under significant pressure following recent defeats, including a 2-4 loss to Holstein Kiel. Speculation has arisen regarding potential successors, with Sandro Wagner, the current assistant coach of the German national team, being mentioned as a candidate.

Wagner, who has been serving as an assistant to Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann since September 2023, is reportedly favored by Dortmund’s CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke. However, Wagner is under contract with the German Football Association (DFB) until after the 2026 World Cup. DFB officials, including President Bernd Neuendorf and CEO Andreas Rettig, have expressed their expectation that Wagner will honor his contract and remain with the national team.

Despite the rumors, there is no official confirmation from Borussia Dortmund regarding a coaching change no. The club’s management continues to support Şahin, emphasizing the importance of upcoming matches in determining the team’s direction.
