  • Neymar and Djokovic take on quiz challenge
  • Brazilian left red-faced by Champions League record
  • Djokovic surprised by Neymar’s answer. Neymar and Djokovic know all about winning titles with the two sporting superstars having bagged dozens of trophies during their illustrious careers. The two men have now caught up and been quizzed about each other’s achievements, which brought plenty of laughter and some embarrassment too. Neymar had few problems answering questions about Djokovic’s career, including how many Gran Slam titles the tennis star has won and how many Olympic medals. However, things became a little more difficult when the tables were turned. Djokovic was quizzed on how many Champions League crowns Neymar had claimed and was convinced the answer was two. Yet Neymar had to confess that he’s only actually lifted the European Cup once, back in 2015 with Barcelona.

    WHAT DJOKOVIC SAID

Djokovic mused: “How many Champions Leagues has he won with Barcelona… two?” The tennis great then looked at a rather red-faced Neymar and added: “No wait you won one? One? Are you sure?” The pair then descended into laughter with Djokovic going on to say: “OK one. But the second one is coming.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Neymar played arguably his best football at Barcelona, forming an incredible ‘MSN’ attack alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. The Brazilian claimed La Liga twice, the Copa del Rey three times and the Champions League once with the Catalan giants before making the shock move to PSG in 2017. More league and domestic cup titles flowed for Neymar in the French capital but he was unable to realise the club’s top ambition by bringing the European Cup to Paris before his blockbuster departure to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in 2023

    WHAT NEXT FOR NEYMAR

Neymar made his long-awaited comeback from a serious knee injury last time out for Al-Hilal and will be hoping to add to his trophy collection this season with the Saudi side. Al-Hilal enjoyed a record-breaking season in the 2023-24 campaign, while Neymar was sidelined, and currently sit top of the table after seven games as they aim to successfully defend their league title.
