Breaking News:Butland’s Ibrox Exit Imminent Rangers Weigh Up Big-Money Offer

According to Barry Ferguson, Rangers will have to “seriously consider” a last-minute large money transfer attempt for Jack Butland. Earlier in the summer transfer season, Philippe Clement stated that the Englishman was not for sale, despite Nottingham Forest making a late bid in January [Daily Record, January 30].

Although Go Radio analyst Ferguson does not want the keeper to leave Ibrox before the August 30 deadline, he admits that every player on the Light Blues’ roster is available at the current price. On The Go Radio Football Show (August 28, 23:55), he stated: “Every player has a price on their head. “If someone comes in and offers to pay £15 million or £20 million for Jack Butland, I believe the club would have to seriously consider it.

“You don’t want them to think about that because Jack is an important part of the team’s future, but with any team, especially in Scotland with Rangers and Celtic, every player has a price on their head.

Will Jack Butland exit Rangers before Ibrox transfer deadline?

As Ferguson points out, in an ideal world, the Light Blues would be allowed to reject any offers made for all of their players in the final days of the transfer window, but that is just not achievable at Ibrox this summer.

While time is running out for Clement to complete his roster revamp in Glasgow, the Belgian hopes to collect finances through a few more player sales to make some last-minute additions to his squad. Join Ibrox News

Butland is the most valued player in his squad, and if permitted to go, he would command a high eight-figure fee.

However, the Rangers manager has made it clear that he has no interest in selling the Englishman, therefore killing any prospective interest in his signing. Perhaps a Premier League club will test the Light Blues’ determination in the last days of the window, like Forest did in January. As Ferguson points out, each player in Clement’s roster has a cost.
