Oliver Arblaster commits himself to Sheffield United amid Aston Villa interest

A story from the Telegraph claimed that Oliver Arblaster is a target for Aston Villa this summer – after the England U20 international rose to prominence at Sheffield United.

The 20-year-old central midfielder has already scored two goals in three Championship appearances so far this season, with Chris Wilder handing him the armband in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Norwich, like he did in Premier League clashes against Manchester United and Newcastle last season.

In that respect, Arblaster would be an exciting addition at Villa Park, although he has now quashed talk of an exit from Bramall Lane.

As quoted by The Star, the Sheffield United No.4 said: “I don’t really listen to that. I love playing for Sheffield United, there’s no doubt about it. I’ll just keep my head down, keep playing Andy hopefully performing well.“I just want to keep doing my talking on the pitch. Supporting this club and going home and away, watching the team. I just love playing for Sheffield United, and I’d like to do that for a lot longer.”

For example, a move for Crystal Palace No.14 Jean-Philippe Mateta could materialise.
