Aston Villa keen on Samu Omorodion

According to Spanish outlet El Desmarque, Villa are keen on Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion, who had attracted the interest of Chelsea earlier this month.

Chelsea came close to completing the signing but the deal to take Omorodion to Stamford Bridge collapsed at the 11th due to an issue with personal terms.

The report from El Desmaqrue claims that after the debacle surrounding Omorodion’s potential sale to Chelsea, the Spanish club are now moving forward with a sale to Villa instead.

The Villans have reportedly made it clear that they would be willing to pay €35 million (£30 million) to sign Omorodion. That’s the same figure Atlético de Madrid were asking for from Chelsea.

Omorodion was key for Chelsea as the signing of the promising Spanish striker would have allowed Conor Gallagher to complete his move to Atletico Madrid.

However, when the deal for Omorodion collapsed, Gallagher was left in limbo for Atletico but he has finally joined the Spanish giants.

Samu Omorodion would be an interesting replacement for Jhon Duran

Villa kicked off their campaign with a 2-1 victory away at West Ham United with Duran netting the winning goal, which was ironic considering the Hammers want the forward brought in this summer.

If Villa did decide to part ways with Duran, the signing of Omorodion would be exciting and the young forward may have a better chance of succeeding under Emery than he would at the chaotic Chelsea.

Emery has already gotten the best out of Ollie Watkins and Omorodion could be the next promising striker he brings to mould into his image.
