Breaking News: Hull City Seals Deal with Promising Young Talent After Brentford Departure

Hull City have recruited youngster Brandon Annous following his departure from Brentford, according to the club’s official website. Hull City has signed the midfielder on a one-year contract ahead of the 2024/25 season, with an option for a further 12 months. He recently went on trial with the Championship side and impressed enough to earn a permanent move to East Yorkshire.

Annous, 18, left Brentford at the end of last season when they decided to let him go. His contract with the Premier League club officially terminated in late June, and he has since found a new home in the Football League. Conor Sellars, the Tigers’ Lead Professional Development Phase Coach and a former Bradford City player, told the club’s website: “Brandon came in from Brentford. We decided to put him on trial at the beginning of the season, and he impressed us at training and in games with his talent on the ball and the way he carried it; he’s a really good mover who can change direction rapidly.

He was overjoyed when we offered him a contract, which shows how much he wants to be here and be a player, so it’s great to have him.”

Hull City land new face

Annous will initially train with Hull City’s development squad. He will be keen to demonstrate his abilities as he hopes to make the first team in the future. He began his career at Arsenal, joining the top division club at the age of ten. He stayed with the Gunners for four years before leaving when he was 14.

Before joining Brentford last year, the teenager had previously played for MK Dons and Aldershot Town. He was a regular for the Bees’ Under-18s last season but did not receive an extension. Hull City has since taken a look at him and invited him to Turkey for their Under-21 pre-season games. He played for their academy team in friendlies against Fenerbahce and North Ferriby.

Annous has now joined the Tigers on a full-time basis and is a name to watch in the future. He told their website, “I am happy to join and complete the transaction. It is a great privilege to sign a professional contract. There have been many ups and downs along my path, but having a professional contract and being able to call myself a professional footballer is wonderful.”
