Neville claims Amorim at the ‘end of his tether’ with Man Utd star who has ‘created a real tremor’

Manchester United are showing strong admiration for Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo ahead of the summer transfer window, journalist David Ornstein has revealed.

The Red Devils are reportedly ‘very fond of’ the Ghana international amid his impressive season at the Vitality Stadium, with manager Ruben Amorim said to be a particular admirer of the player.

Semenyo has been excelling under Andoni Iraola this campaign and has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs in recent months, while Bournemouth are aware of the growing interest.

The Cherries would only entertain the 25-year-old’s exit for a club-record fee, which would surpass the £65m they received for Dominic Solanke from Tottenham last summer.

Ornstein, speaking on NBC Sports, has revealed that Man United and Amorim are admirers of Semenyo, whom Bournemouth value in excess of £65m:

“Then there’s Antoine Semenyo, what a season he has had, and a player that Manchester United, their manager, Ruben Amorim, is very fond of.

“Now they [Bournemouth] would be looking to sell him for a fee in excess of what they got for Dominic Solanke, which was £65m, because there’s no release clause, they would want a club record.”

Semenyo, who joined the Cherries from Bristol City in 2023, has impressed in his second season with the club, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

The 24-year-old, praised as ‘deadly’, penned a new five-year contract with Bournemouth last summer, which runs until June 2029.

Man United are believed to be eyeing several changes to their frontline this summer, with multiple departures anticipated to boost their transfer budget.

The likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho are all expected to leave permanently, while Rasmus Hojlund’s future is also looking increasingly uncertain amid his dry Old Trafford spell.
